Client Profile
The Billon Foundation is a federally registered Canadian nonprofit dedicated to supporting the mental health and well‑being of comedians, founded in 2022 in memory of Canadian comedian Matt Billon. Born from a close-knit comedy community grieving the loss of a beloved friend, the foundation exists to make sure comedians never have to navigate isolation, travel stress, or the unique pressures of the profession alone. Through partnerships, storytelling projects, and a growing network of comedians and allies, they focus on increasing access to care, fostering honest conversations about mental health and addiction, and honouring Matt’s legacy by helping others stay connected, resourced, and heard.

The Problem
When The Billon Foundation approached us, their website lived on Wix and no longer reflected the clarity or care of their mission. It was difficult and tedious for their small team to update copy, promote new events, and maintain consistent pages for memberships, donations, and initiatives like Recovery Road or The Three Lives of Matt Billon. The structure had become cluttered, parts of the CMS still carried placeholder content, and making even simple changes often meant wrestling with the platform instead of focusing on outreach, fundraising, and supporting comedians. They needed a site that was as organized, reliable, and easy to manage as the support they aim to offer their community.

Our Solution
We redesigned and rebuilt The Billon Foundation’s site in Framer, lifting it out of Wix and turning it into a clean, structured, and story‑driven experience their team can manage with confidence. The new build streamlines the information architecture around who they are, what they do, events, memberships, and donations, while removing leftover boilerplate and surfacing the stories, programs, and calls to action that matter most. Under the hood, we set up a flexible, intuitive CMS so they can quickly spin up or edit events, update spotlights, and refine messaging without touching code or breaking layouts. The result is a faster, clearer website that’s easier to update and better equipped to grow with the foundation as they continue supporting comedians’ mental health across Canada.
